This is one of my favorite times of year for reflecting about all that has happened and feeling grateful for the work we have been able to do in our community. This year, we have served a variety of clients to support them with their workforce and talent needs, which continues to be employers’ number one priority. We are also so fortunate to work with a variety of partners that exist to help businesses, people and our community improve.

Today, we’re featuring one of our longest tenured clients and their outstanding approach to building a strong team and strengthening our community: Jostin Construction.

As a family and minority owned organization, Jostin Construction has been a valued client of the Workforce Innovation Center from very early on in the Center’s history. Jostin participated in all of the Center’s standard services to look comprehensively at their recruitment, onboarding, and training processes and identify areas of improvement. We provided our findings and a comprehensive guide to help them achieve their talent goals, specifically focused on reducing employee turnover and increasing retention, helping Jostin achieve a turnover rate of 38% as compared to the national industry average of 65%.

Watch this video to hear from Jostin’s Chief People Officer, Liza Smitherman, and Jostin employee, Kayla Hill, and learn more about their success in retaining their employees.
