Workforce Innovation Center

I am so pleased to share the good news that our partner, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, has invested in the Workforce Innovation Center for a fourth year. UWGC is a positive force in our community to advance initiatives that improve the lives of our friends and neighbors. UWGC’s priorities in Educational Success, Financial Empowerment, and Housing Security align with our work at the Workforce Innovation Center, which is to help individuals, organizations, and employers create greater opportunities for people to thrive.

One important partner initiative is Project LIFT (Lifting and Investing in Families Thriving), which works through a connected network of partner organizations to financially empower families and encourage their short- and long-term success. Many of the partner organizations involved in Project LIFT are able to utilize the Workforce Innovation Center’s Career Board and Perks Page to help participants find good places to work while also providing wrap-around services to support their individual successes.

UWGC also operates the 211 system which includes an online database of providers and resources for individuals seeking support as well as a non-emergency phone line available 24/7 to connect callers with trained care coordinators. These professionals connect callers with community resources including employment services, mental health resources, and basic needs among others. This is a great resource to share with employees at your organization to help them find solutions to some of their personal challenges.

You may have also seen the recent news that UWGC has announced 2024 campaign co-chairs, Deborah Hayes, president and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network and Steve Davis, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Please join us in thanking them for their leadership in raising funding to support all of UWGC’s initiatives and partners.

We are incredibly fortunate to have United Way of Greater Cincinnati providing resources, funding, and opportunities to collectively support positive change across the region for employers, people, and their families and for people in our community who contribute to make their work possible!

NEW OPPORTUNITY

Host an Employer Tour with Our Workforce Partners

The Workforce Innovation Center is launching employer tours to connect our workforce partners and those that they serve with local employers who are seeking new employees and resources! We are in conversation with several employers from a variety of industries including healthcare, IT, manufacturing, construction, and more.

If you are an employer and are interested in hosting a tour, we want to learn what factors would be conducive to a successful tour of your facilities and a preview of all the benefits of working at your organization. And if you are a part of our workforce/talent network, we would like to hear from you about what might be most meaningful to get from these tours for the people you serve.

Please share your thoughts and ideas so that we can arrange great tours that will help fill open positions with local talent here in Cincinnati!
